Our blades are made out of carbon steel and are designed with a universal opening so they will fit on other 45mm rotary cutters.

Please note: the blades are coated with oil to keep them protected from humidity during transportation. We recommend wiping them off with a scrap piece of cloth before use to avoid staining your project.

Our rotary blades are made from carbon steel, the same material we make our Traditional Fabric Shears from.

This can vary from person to person and how one uses their cutter, as well as the type of cutting mat they have. We tested our blades at various fabric shops in Toronto, and after using them for up to 8 hours a day, five to seven days a week, each shop got between 3 - 4 months of use from one blade!

They can cut through multiple layers of fabric, leather, fleece, vinyl, denim, and other dense materials.

Carefully store the blades in the original packaging.

FAQs

The measurement you see - such as 8" - is the entire length of the scissor, including the handle.

It depends on how often you use the scissors, what kind of material you’re cutting, and how well you take care of your scissors. When tested in the rigors of professional sewing studios, our scissors outperformed other brands in the same price tier.

Please note that all scissors will need to be sharpened at some point and that dullness is not considered a defect.

We offer a 10 year warranty on all of our products. For more info, click here.

This is because we use put coating of oil on the blades to prevent any rust from developing during the shipping process. Please wipe off the oil before using the scissors. However, we do recommend that you apply a thin layer of oil - such as anti-rust, sewing machine oil, or any neutral oil - on the blades and button with a cloth when not in use.

1 year follow up - WOW!

Ok so I've had these rotary blades on my existing cutter handle for a year now. Um, I'm still on my first one! I'm super impressed. I do have 1 small knick on the blade edge that's jumps a thread when I'm cutting. But for a year in use I think that's incredible. Worth every last penny. Now I w as it for more sizes to be available! Would love smaller sizes 18mm and 28 for precision cutting especially on wovens and lingerie fabrics.

Put them in your olfa

These blades are the best I've used. Like butter! Great price, and they'll fit into your current cutter.

LDH: Please make some of the tiny 18mm ones!

Best blades

I was lucky to have met Ursula personally at our quilt guild last year and purchased rotary cutter blades. I have had the same blade in for all of the covid lockdown and still going strong!

Worth the price difference!

I've been buying Olfa and other cheap ones online. I've had issues with breaking and chipped edges very quickly. I mostly do garment sewing. These are definitely stronger and don't flex as much. Have been using the same blade for 6 weeks of heavy use and still cuts beautifully through denim to bamboo. Glad I took a chance, worth the value and safety of knowing they're not going to snap while I'm using them.
